Sulla Mode: Head Gear

I know what you’re thinking. Fashion and head gear? No. They don’t have anything in common, at least not the head gear that typically comes to mind when “head” and “gear” are mentioned together in that order. Today I’m talking about something we actually want to put on our head: awesome, glittery, bright-colored, headbands.

I would like to give a shout out to my dear friend PBRG who got me into wearing headbands at musical events. She always has one or two on, and always looks amazing! I hearts you, lover. And I hearts the headbands you wear to shows.

They’re funstuffs, people. Sweaty hair getting in the way of your headbanging fun? Pull a headband out of your show bag and your hair troubles be gone.

I’m all over the map in my fondness of types of headbands—beaded, sequined, feathered, leathered—you name it, I like it. However, I do firmly believe that less is more when donning head accessories. I am not a big fan of hanging feathers or overly mixed media (beads, flowers, and feathers all on the same band). Keep it simple, keep it chic. You don’t want to look like you thought it was a Halloween show in August, folks.
