Sulla Mode: Simple Shoes. Get them while you can!
It is with great heartbreak and sadness that I write this post as a farewell to one of my most loved staples of my comfy, thrown-together wardrobe. I have had a love affair with Simples for about 7 years now when my hubby bought me my first pairs for a super awesome “Christmas of Shoes.” He gifted me multiple pairs of these super heady kicks made of 100% organic and recycled materials. I instantly fell in love. Over the years we have both acquired various styles of this ultra comfortable shoe and currently have about 25-30 pairs between the two of us.
I have always considered Simple shoes my “dress up” sneakers. I don’t know if the fashionistas out there would agree or not, but I always threw these shoes on with a pretty top and jeans and felt just dressy enough for date night. They accompanied me on many an evening with Tommy to a nice dinner and some live music because, lets face it, nobody wants to dance in heels.
In late November Simple Shoes released a statement that they will be ceasing distribution to take a much needed vacation. Zappos.com will be carrying the final treasures for a limited time at a reduced price. This is the perfect way to spend your holiday gift cards people. Zappos still has styles for Men, Women, and Kids, although the women’s lot will surely be diminished once I make my final purchases. Here are just a few styles left on Zappos:
In the Simple Shoes statement, they leave a small glimmer of hope that they may someday return. I will be waiting patiently and hopefully for their possible comeback as I dance the night away (on the rare occasion that we get a babysitter) in the sweetest kicks ever made.
Simple Shoes…you will be missed.
