Pretty, Perfect Packaging: Oat Revolution
Its another snowy Monday morning here in Denver. Today’s low is 2 and tomorrow’s low is negative 10 degrees.
Needless to say, its going to be a very chilly two days. I’ve got plans for a big pot of beef stew with veggies for later today, but in the meantime oatmeal is hitting the spot for breakfast.
Oatmeal is part hearty, warm goodness and part flavor. Some people just...

A Home: Master of Design, Patricia Urquiola
I read about Italian designer, Patricia Urquiola, while flipping through Fast Company magazine’s October 2010 “Masters of Design” issue. Studio Urquiola calls Milan its home, but their clients are worldwide.
Patricia has done it all from working with BMW to design a car for women, teaching H&M how to organize their retail stores, and completely redesign the Mandarin Oriental...

Sulla Mode: I enjoy long walks on the beach.
I am going on my very first non-family, non-musically fueled vacation in less than two months. Destination? Costa Rica! I am absolutely thrilled. With less than two months ‘til go day, I have been mulling over outfit possibilities non-stop. I’m a girl, duh. That’s what we do.
Last night while trying to wind down in bed, I ended up on a seemingly endless interweb window shopping...

Good Dog.
A Dogs Soul Every dog must have a soul, somewhere deep inside Where all his hurts and grievances are buried with his pride. Where he decides the good and bad, the wrong way from the right, And where his judgement carefully is hidden from our sight. A dog must have a secret place, where every thought abides, A sort of close acquaintance that he trusts in and confides. And when accused...

A Home: Farmhouse living
Back in September, I had a dream about living in the perfect little farm house. Some of you may remember this post about how my dream farm house will have quaint little dutch doors. I have continued to collect photos to inspire me once my farm house dream comes true (whenever that may be)…
So, I thought it was about time I share these beauties with you.
First, let’s start with my idea of...

Eye Candy: Emma Kunz
I stumbled upon this site, while looking for inspiration for today’s post. Wow, what a blessing of a discovery. Emma’s work is so beautiful, so intricate, yet simple. It calms me to my core. So far, this is one of my favorite drawings of hers:
How have I never heard of her before?
Or work amazing work?
Or her story?
I fully intend to learn as much as possible about her in the...

Movie Poster Love
(Poster Art by LaBoca)
I saw Black Swan last night and can’t get that movie out of my head. It was both dark and beautiful. There are some haunting shots that I don’t think I will soon forget. These posters are pretty amazing too. Its nice to see Hollywood take an artistic approach to promotion.
Have you guys seen the movie? What did you think?

Trend Watch: Yipes! Stripes.
I’m not sure if you have noticed the recent infiltration of stripes in just about every woman’s clothing store, but I have, and I’m loving them. They are just enough pattern to break up a mostly solid wardrobe like mine—a begginers pattern, if you will. My favorite part about the stripes this season is that they tend to stay in my favorite, dark tones. They are sporty and...

There, Now: And [I] Love to Take a Bath
When life gets to be too much, I take a bath.
Now, I’m not talking a quick soak and scrub, but a hot, hour plus long, bubble bath.
Taking these insanely long baths leaves me refreshed, calm, and smelling oh, so lovely. I’ve been taking them for as long as I can remember. My mom used to tap on the bathroom door to be sure I hadn’t fallen asleep, because I would be in there for...

A Home: Pillow Talk
I am daydreaming about a new bed & new bed linens. I am also daydreaming about a new house with a bedroom large enough to have a bed like this:
(All available from Ikea)
There’s something so relaxing about a white bed, something so romantic about a four-poster bed, and something so serene about a canopy bed.

Want to keep your dream alive?
Can I keep it with mine?
Some of the time the future comes right ‘round to haunt me
Some of the time the future comes ‘round just to see
Not all is as it could be
Like it’s there to remind me
We’ve got to wait and see
