Etsy Spotlight: Lemon Sweet
I bookmarked Leslie’s store a few weeks ago and this morning after my first cup of coffee since Sunday, I bought two absolutely darling pieces from her etsy store, Lemon Sweet. She has the cutest necklaces! Don’t be jealous of the one I just snagged, since it was the only one available. Here are my two finds:  Vintage Aurora Borealis Glass Rhinestone Earrings and the Fringe Benefits...

A Home: Floating Away
This photo has been in my files for awhile. It really takes my breath away. There is so much emotion flowing out of it. So much so, that its difficult to put into words.  Crush Collision film still - Sutton

A Home: Mid-Century Modern Living
Lately, I have really been digging the mid-century modern style of homes. Actually, to be quite honest, I thought it was called “California Ranch” style, but after 30+ minutes of searching Google with those words, I discovered its proper name.  (L to R: Berkeley, Coast Modern, Treehouse) I think they are just the right mixture of modern and eco-living. They remind me of something a...

Operation Party Dress
It’s one of my favorite times of year:  holiday party dress season. Yes, I said “dress season.” I rarely wear dresses, but what better occasion to wear a dress than to a holiday party? I have to look festive to feel festive. So, dainty ladies and men, without further ado, I give you my favorite holiday dresses for the 2010 holiday party season.  First, the LBD. My staple color...

Etsy Spotlight: Byrds of a Pheather
One hot mama + bohemian style + feathers from a variety of birds = Byrds of a Pheather These are far and away the most beautiful feather earrings I have ever seen. The store’s owner, Brooke, uses peacock, rooster, duck, maccow, guinea hen, and pheasant feathers to create amazing, eye-catching earrings and necklaces. The contrast of colors and textures is truly a delight to behold. Byrds...

All I Want for Christmas: Take Two
1. An electric blanket with dual controls (a setting for my side and a setting for his side), which I will mainly use to warm the bed up before I lay down for the night. I really hate crawling into a freezing cold bed. 2. L.L. Bean flannel sheets with a print of tiny skiers. Just this week my toe discovered a tiny little hole in our fitted flannel sheet and throughout the night my toe got stuck...

A Home: Crush Alert
Yes. It’s true. I have a crush. I know, I know. It isn’t typical for me to go live on the interwebs and publicly broadcast a crush. But, here I am, about to do that very thing. Maybe it’s the array of twinkling Christmas lights sparkling in Centennial Park just outside of my office windows. Maybe it’s the dwindling amount of personnel in the office allowing me a few...

Tunes: Andrew Bird does Bob Dylan
RM introduced me to Andrew Bird a few years back, but it wasnt until I heard his version of Bob Dylan’s Oh, Sister that I was truly moved by his style. I really adore this song, its so heartfelt and so full of emotion. RM posted a link to this video on her Facebook earlier this week and I’ve had it on repeat ever since.  Wishing you a happy, cozy, warm Saturday night. - Sutton

These Wandering Eyes
I read an obscene amount of blogs, but I also read a handful of magazines as well. There’s just something so exciting about holding something in your hands and flipping through page after page of pretty things. These are my three absolute favorites…  We subscribed to National Geographic Traveler in Hawke’s name and plan to keep every issue for his first 18 years. So far, so...

Trend watch: deep side parts
Last week I was pleasantly surprised to see an article in New York Magazine about one of the upcoming looks for spring 2011:  deep side parts. While the look changes from up to down, one thing remains the same—super straight hair with severe parts that run all the way across the top of the head.  This makes me happy because I’ve been trying to grow my bangs out for almost two years...

Seeing Stars
(purchase here) I must have this headband… Oh, my I really must have it. I can’t imagine anything more puuurfect than this adorable, dainty headband. I am celebrating New Years on the 29th this year, as my husband will be out of town on the 31st (work & play & boys running amuck in New York City seeing Phish) and I will plan to spend the 31st cuddling with my handsome...

Eye Candy: Silk Screen Print
I am really digging this new print from Jason LeDoux. This 8x10 print is five inks with a slight metallic sheen printed on midnight blue printmaking paper and is Jason’s interpretation of the solar system. Jesse has chosen St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital as his artwork’s charity. St. Jude’s is a pediatric treatment and research facility. The organization...

Shopping: Astral Boutique (Etsy)
I discovered the Astral Boutique over the weekend while searching for dresses on Etsy. I immediately fell in love with the first dress pictured below. The colors, the patterns, and the style are oh so cute. Unfortunately its a size xxs, which I am not. But if any of you out there are, snatch this dress up. Its only $26! This second top is available for just $10 and its a size medium.  I love...
